Technical Specifications

Materials, safety standards, and manufacturing processes.

All DR Forged wheels are made from aerospace-grade 6061-T6 forged aluminum and machined to your exact specs.

Yes. All DR Forged wheels are engineered and tested to meet or exceed applicable JWL, VIA, TÜV, and SAE safety standards, depending on the specific design and market. Every wheel undergoes strict structural, fatigue, and impact testing to ensure safety, durability, and performance for street and high-performance use.

Load ratings are engineered specifically for each vehicle application based on factors such as vehicle weight, intended use, tire grip, suspension setup, and expected driving loads.

Most lighter passenger vehicle applications are rated around 1,600 lbs per wheel, while heavier applications such as EVs, trucks, and SUVs can exceed 2,100 lbs per wheel.

For track-focused and high-performance builds, wheel construction and structural design are further optimized to account for increased cornering forces, braking loads, and additional stress from high-grip tire setups and aerodynamic downforce where applicable.

Forged wheels:
There are two primary types of forged wheel manufacturing:

  1. Fully CNC-machined forged billet construction, offering the highest level of customization, weight optimization, and engineering flexibility.
  2. Mold-formed forged construction, which uses a pre-shaped forged blank with more limited customization capability.

Both forged methods provide superior strength-to-weight performance compared to cast or flow-formed wheels, while billet-forged construction allows the greatest flexibility for custom sizes, offsets, load ratings, and wheel designs.

Flow-formed wheels:
Flow-formed wheels use a cast center with a spun and stretched barrel, offering improved strength and reduced weight compared to traditional cast wheels. While lighter and stronger than cast construction, they are typically still heavier and less customizable than fully forged wheels.

Cast wheels:
Cast wheels are manufactured by pouring molten aluminum into a mold. They are the most budget-oriented wheel construction method, but are generally heavier and less structurally optimized compared to flow-formed or forged wheels.

Fitment & Compatibility
Vehicle compatibility, brake clearance, and bolt patterns.

You may order using our recommended specifications, or contact our team for assistance selecting the ideal wheel width, offset, and overall fitment configuration for your application

Wheel concavity is determined by factors such as wheel width, offset, brake clearance, and barrel design. DR Forged optimizes concavity wherever fitment allows while maintaining proper clearance and structural integrity.

If a more or less aggressive concave profile is preferred, specifications can often be adjusted during the design process.

Yes. We design wheels around OEM and aftermarket BBKs.
We also 3D scan brake systems to create exact clearance models, ensuring proper fitment with no guesswork.

Yes. We build wheels for all vehicles, including:

Daily drivers

Sports cars

Trucks & SUVs

6-lug platforms

Centerlock systems

Track and race applications

We adjust design, structure, and load rating based on vehicle requirements.

Yes. DR Forged offers custom forged wheels for 6-lug trucks and SUVs, engineered for correct fitment, load requirements, and brake clearance on heavier platforms.

Yes. DR Forged wheels can be engineered in centerlock configurations for vehicles equipped with a centerlock system, depending on application and design requirements.

Customization

Design options, finishes, and personalization features.

Yes. DR Forged wheels can be fully customized, including design, size, offset, bolt pattern, finish, and engraving. OEM center cap compatibility can also be accommodated where applicable.

We offer three main finish categories: solid finishes, transparent finishes over brushed aluminum, and specialty textured coatings. Both solid and transparent finishes are available in Gloss, Satin, and Matte options. Full finish options can be viewed on our finishes page.

Yes. Forged carbon center caps are included with all DR Forged wheels. OEM-style center cap fitment can also be accommodated where applicable, depending on the vehicle and wheel design.

Warranty & Shipping

Coverage terms and international delivery options.

Yes. DR Forged wheels are covered by a limited lifetime structural warranty, along with a 3-year finish warranty. Each wheel is engineered for long-term durability, performance, and reliability.

Yes. DR Forged provides complimentary worldwide shipping, and standard import duties and customs fees are covered where applicable. The price shown at checkout is the final delivered price, with no hidden shipping or import charges.
